Two collections at opposite ends of the spectrum. Twelve packs. Four hundred and eighty squares. And the ruler to cut them with.
Most scrappy quilts fail in the same place. Everything sits at the same value, so the blocks blur together and the piecing you spent a weekend on stops reading from across the room. You need lights that breathe and darks that anchor, and one collection almost never gives you both.
This bundle is built as a pair, on purpose.
Patchwork Carnival is the bright end. A full rainbow of dots, ginghams, stripes, stars and small scattered flowers on light grounds. It is the pack children reach for, and the one that keeps a quilt top from going heavy.
Crimson Garden is the dark end. Japanese in feel, crimson and navy and black with metallic gold, cherry blossom, cranes, fans and traditional geometrics. It is the anchor most precut bundles skip entirely.
Why six packs of each matters
Six packs means repetition. You get enough of any one print to bring it back across a whole quilt top rather than using it once and running out, which is the difference between a scrappy quilt that reads as designed and one that reads as leftovers. With 240 squares per collection you can also split the bundle across projects and still have range left in both.
About the free ruler
The Fabric Hut 6" Square Ruler is included at no extra cost. Clear acrylic, easy-to-read inch markings, angle lines at 30, 45 and 80 degrees. At 6 inches it is the right size for these squares: squaring up four-patches, trimming half-square triangles to size, and fussy cutting a single motif out of a 5" charm without wrestling a full-length ruler across a small piece.
One note before you plan around the fabric. These are our own printed cottons, lightweight and on the thinner side. They are made for practice pieces, scrappy makes and everyday projects rather than heirloom quilts.
