Simple Streamers Free Quilt Pattern

Simple Streamers Free Quilt Pattern

This pattern has all the cheerful, festive energy of a party banner caught mid-twirl, and it is such a joyful one to look at. Simple Streamers arranges bright pieced strips into a woven layout, with sweet little pennant tails at the bottom, so the whole quilt feels like fluttering ribbons across a calm background.

The finished quilt measures 70" x 70", a generous square that works beautifully as a throw or a wall hanging, and it leans on a small palette of bright fabrics with a quiet background to let those streamers really sing. It is the kind of pattern that absolutely begs for joyful colour, whether you stay with crisp solids or bring in some playful prints.

  • A happy, woven layout. The streamers cross over and under each other in a basketweave, which gives the design real movement and depth without any tricky piecing.
  • Sweet little pennant tails. The notched V at the bottom of each strip is what gives this quilt its festive personality, and it really is just a couple of simple cuts to get that look.
  • A wonderful colour playground. Because the streamers are so visually clear and bold, you can have so much fun choosing your palette, from bright happy brights to soft pastels or even a warm autumn mix.

Finished quilt size: 70" x 70"

Tip: before you print the pattern, set your printer to "no scaling" or "actual size" so the measurements come out true. When you cut those pennant ends, a fresh rotary blade and a steady hand really help, and pressing each strip flat before piecing keeps the woven look nice and crisp.

Picking the colours is half the fun here, so have a peek at our solids collection, a lovely range of cotton solids ready to gather into your own joyful streamer palette. We would love to see how yours turns out!

Happy quilting!
