Here is why this one is worth watching:
- A crease does the job of a pin. You fold both the background piece and the triangle in half and press a crease with your fingernail, then line the two creases up. That single match centres the triangle every time, with no ruler and no measuring.
- The overhang is meant to be there. The triangle sits a little proud at both edges on purpose, and that deliberate overhang is exactly what lets the point fall dead centre once it is sewn and pressed.
- Cut a pinch bigger than five inches. Giving yourself a touch of extra fabric leaves you room to square the block up cleanly afterwards, and the whole approach carries over to any triangle sewn onto a square.
