Fabric scissors questions

What is the difference between fabric shears and fabric scissors?

Shears are usually longer, from about 7 inches up, with one handle ring bigger than the other for a comfortable grip. Scissors are shorter with matching rings and suit trimming seams and detail work.

What are the best scissors for quilting?

Most quilters keep three: a pair of fabric shears for cutting fabric off the bolt and through multiple layers, trimming scissors beside the machine, and small embroidery scissors or thread snips to trim threads.
