The same mini strip quilt, in greens.
This is the Morning Mist version of Cherry Blossom, the beginner quilt with one cut in it and not a single point to match. It finishes at 56 by 60 inches, sixty blocks set four across and fifteen down, each one two mini strips and a trimmed white square.
The original is Blossom Breeze, forty florals in pink and aqua. Morning Mist is twenty prints in greens, sages and soft neutrals, so the quilt comes out of the same four packs looking completely different: each print turns up six times in the top instead of three, which makes the blocks read as a family rather than as a scrap bag. If you wanted Cherry Blossom but not in pink, this is it.

160 Precut Fabric Strips 2.5" x 10" + 84 Squares 5"
What you need
Four packs of mini strips, 2 1/2 by 10 inches, forty to a pack. The top takes 120 of them, the binding takes 34, and 6 are spare. Two packs of 5 inch white charm squares, 42 to a pack, of which 60 go into the top.
Backing is 1 7/8 yards of 108 inch wide fabric, which gives 64 by 68 inches with no seam anywhere in it, and the batting is cut to the same size.
The one cut, and why it exists
Two strips sewn together along their long edges come to 4 1/2 inches. A charm square is 5. That half inch has to go somewhere, so every white square is trimmed from 5 inches to 5 by 4 1/2 before anything else happens. Sixty squares, one straight cut each, and that is the whole of the cutting in this quilt.
After that it is two strips, a square, and sixty blocks that are all the same. Chain piece them with our guide to chain piecing and the top goes together in an afternoon.
Twenty prints instead of forty
With six strips of each print in the top, you can place them deliberately: spread one print across the quilt, keep two greens of the same value apart, and let the white squares do the breathing. Lay the blocks out on a wall before you sew the rows, and take a photograph.
If you would rather build it from something else, our precut mini strips and white charm squares work the same way, as long as two strips sewn together measure 4 1/2 inches.
