Matching quilt points at a clean block intersection

How to Get Your Quilt Points to Match

Nothing quite lifts a quilt block like points that meet cleanly right where they should. In this tutorial over on our Fabric Hut channel, we walk you through assembling your units so your seams line up and your points stay crisp, part of our ongoing project where every little intersection counts.

Here is why this one is worth watching:

  • Lining the units up so the points meet. We show how to orient and align your pieces as you join them, so the seams sit exactly where they need to and your points come together neatly instead of drifting off.
  • Keeping your seam allowance consistent. So much of a clean intersection comes down to the same steady quarter inch on every unit, and we walk through how to hold that consistency all the way through assembly.
  • Pressing toward the blue for a flat finish. We share which way to press so the seams nest against one another, letting the intersections lie flat and keeping the whole block beautifully square.

What is your own secret for getting points to match, nesting the seams, pinning, or something else entirely? Tell us in the comments. And if you have not already, subscribing to our channel means you will catch every step of this project as soon as it lands.
