Some fabrics only need one careless press to be ruined: a shine down the front of a wool pant leg, a flattened patch in velvet, a yellow scorch on silk. A pressing cloth sits between the iron and the garment and takes that risk away.

Because this one is made from an open mesh you can see straight through it, so you know exactly where the iron is going and whether the seam has actually opened. It is reusable and machine washable, which makes it a piece of equipment rather than a consumable.

How to use it

Lay the cloth over the area you want to press and iron on top of it. Keep the iron at a moderate setting for delicate fabrics rather than the maximum, and test on a scrap first when you are working with something new.
