Why these five
They are not five pretty fabrics thrown in a bag. They are a working set. There is a clear light, a clear dark and three steps in between, which is the thing most quilts need and most scrap piles do not have. Photograph them in black and white and you can still tell all five apart, which is the old test for whether a palette will read once it is cut up.
There is also one of each kind: a low volume background, a geometric, two florals at different scales, and a large novelty print. That mix is what keeps a finished quilt from looking like one long flower bed.
What a fat quarter gets you
At 18'' x 21'' one fat quarter yields around 56 five inch squares' worth of area, or a generous set of blocks, or the binding for a table runner. Five of them is a table topper, a set of placemats, a cushion front, a doll quilt, or the accent fabrics in a bigger quilt.
It is not enough for a bed quilt, and we would rather say so. If you want to make something large from this collection, the same prints are available as 5 yard cuts by the yard.

These are cut and folded by us, not sealed in plastic. The five prints are always the five listed above.
