Making a Quilt from Start to Finish ✂️ Quilting Tips for Beginners

Posted by Ricardo Patrocínio on

Watch a modern quilt being made from start to finish over the course of 10 months - no pattern was used, only 8 1/2 inch cut triangles.

Quilting techniques featured: chain piecing, glue basting seams, basting the quilt layers with curved safety pins, echo quilting using a walking foot, making double fold quilt binding, machine binding a quilt (no hand sewing!).

This project is a baby / crib sized quilt for a friend's little one using an out-of-print fabric collection called Botanics by Carolyn Friedlander. Quilted using Aurifil 40 weight cotton thread, backed with a Target 100% organic cotton flat sheet.
