Black and white are the two that do the most and disappear the fastest, because they are what you reach for when a block needs a background, a sashing, a border, or somewhere for the eye to rest. This bundle puts both in the drawer at once, 42 squares of each, so the next quilt does not stall halfway through for want of a neutral.

What each one does

White Supreme is the breathing space. A crisp, neutral white background lifts every print you set against it and keeps a busy quilt from closing in. It is the safest square in the box and the one you will use most.

Black Supreme is the opposite job. It anchors. Set a bright print against black and the colour reads twice as strong, which is exactly why most scrappy quilts look washed out: they have no dark end. One black square between two florals does more than three more florals ever will.

The 5" charm square is the standard unit of patchwork, which means these drop straight into almost anything you already sew. Cut one in half and you have two 2.5" x 5" pieces, the same unit our mini strips give you, so black and white from this bundle mix into any of our precut collections without any arithmetic.
