How the three work together
The cutter comes with a removable TrueCut® guide. It locks into the raised track that runs along both sides of the ruler, so the blade follows the edge instead of wandering off it, and the ruler stops sliding under your hand halfway down a long cut. Prefer the rulers you already own? Take the guide off and it works like any rotary cutter.
The cutter, and why this one is different
The 45mm My Comfort Ergo Cutter is built around the Comfort Curve Grip. Instead of a straight handle that asks your wrist to bend, the curve lines up wrist, arm and shoulder so the cutting force sits directly over the blade. Less strain per cut, and the difference shows up on the long sessions rather than the short ones.
The blade sits further out of the housing than on most cutters, so you can see the line you are cutting and the edge bites through the layers instead of riding over them. Blade changes are push-button quick release: press, the old blade comes out, the new one drops in. No screw, no washer, no small parts on the floor. There is an easy-access safety lock for when it goes back in the drawer, and the whole cutter converts for right or left handed use.
One detail that has nothing to do with cutting and that people like anyway: the handle takes customizable inserts, so you can put a scrap of your favourite fabric or a photo behind the panel.
The blades, the part that wears out
Every blade is titanium coated SKS-7 tungsten steel. The coating is harder than the steel underneath and it cuts friction at the edge, so the edge holds its shape long after an uncoated blade has rounded off. That is why these blades last far longer than regular blades. It is not a slogan. It is what the coating does.

The ruler
Six and a half inches square, the size you reach for most: squaring up blocks, trimming half-square triangles and flying geese, cutting the small shapes that decide whether the points meet. The grid reads in eighth-inch increments, the quarter, half and three-quarter lines are labeled, and there is a 45° line for trimming on the bias. Marking holes let you mark the fabric through the ruler without moving it. It is injection-molded thermoplastic rather than standard acrylic, so the edges stay straight and chip-resistant through years of cutting.
