Each kit bundles coordinated quilt shop cotton, a step-by-step pattern, backing and binding, with every piece already cut to size. Pre-cut quilt kits, cut and ready to sew

Every pre-cut quilt kit here arrives cut, matched and ready to sew. The fabric for the top, the coordinating backing, the binding and the pattern instructions come in one box. You supply the sewing machine, thread and basic tools.

Cutting is where most quilt projects stall. It takes more time than any other step, and it is the step that turns a project into a pile in the corner. A precut kit removes it. Each pre-cut comes individually packed, and we include extra pieces in case a seam goes wrong, so you open the box and you are already sewing.

Pre-cut kits by skill level

Each kit is labeled with its level, so you can choose by skill instead of by guesswork. Beginner kits such as Floral Patchwork, Modern Patchwork, Pool Party and Honor and Valor use simple piecing and a clear pattern, and Floral Patchwork uses just two shapes. Confident beginner kits such as Stars at Sea, First Bloom, Garden Gate and Prairie Posies suit a quilter who has finished a first quilt and wants half square triangles to work with. Experienced quilters pick them too, when they want a quick, relaxing project between bigger quilts.

The instructions go step by step, with illustrations and colored outlines that show which way each piece faces. Our tutorial videos let you watch, pause and rewind until a step clicks.

Sizes from throw to queen

Most of our quilt kits finish around 60 x 72 inches, a throw size for the sofa or the foot of a bed. Prairie Posies finishes at 68 x 90.5 inches. Peppermint Poinsettias and Heartland Home make a 60 x 72 inch throw with one kit, or an 84 x 96 inch queen with two, so those are the options to look at for a bed quilt.

Are quilt kits worth it?

A kit takes the two slowest jobs off your list: choosing fabrics that work together and cutting them. Our pre-cut quilt kits also include the backing, the binding and the pattern instructions, so you are not buying extra yardage to finish the quilt.

What is the best quilt kit for a beginner?

Start with a kit labeled Beginner. Floral Patchwork uses just two shapes and chain piecing, and Modern Patchwork teaches chain piecing and nesting seams. Once one quilt is finished, a confident beginner kit such as Stars at Sea adds half square triangles.
